This is just my opinion on dry firing

After years of procrastination, I finally completed the process of applying for a pistol permit. Part of that process was a mandatory gun safety course. While the class was informative on the pistol permit application aspects, I do not believe it should be considered a safety course. Only the 10 basic gun safety rules were discussed during the two-hour class. The instructors even said that we should make sure we knew how to use our individual firearms and ask the local store if there were any classes. I think dry gun training would be a great tool for beginners to get used to their guns and possible new purchases. With today's social distance and the cost of ammunition, it makes practical sense to have dry fire training on the rise. Dry firing allows firearms owners to practice without expensive ammunition. It's very easy to fire 100 rounds during training, which is a lot if you go shooting once a week. Blank ammunition is not much cheaper than live ammunition, so dry firing is the most profitable option. Dry firing is also a safer option, although, as always, treat any firearm as if it were loaded. It's also even more convenient because you can practice from the comfort of your own home. With the advent of virtual shooting ranges and shooting simulators, this will not only help current firearms owners, but may also lead to increased interest from the younger generation. A virtual shooting range conjures up images of video games popular with the younger generation. It will allow people to get into a more familiar and comfortable environment. As always, even in such an atmosphere, it should be emphasized that any handling of firearms should be deliberate, and should be handled as loaded. Firearm owners should continue to practice shooting and maintaining any firearm they own. Not only do firearms need to be cleaned, but every time they are fired it can have serious consequences, so anyone who shoots a firearm should feel confident in handling and firing it. As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect. Dry shooting has so many advantages that there is no reason for a person dealing with firearms to feel uncomfortable. The benefits of dry firing include no loud noises, anticipation of recoil, practicing the grip, the loading/unloading process and the weight of the trigger. Pulling the trigger is different from many other actions. When shooting, you must pull the trigger slowly and steadily until the gun fires. Dry firing will help you develop your finger muscles as well as work on your stability. Now that many firearms can be fired dry, and with the technology of virtual shooting ranges, I believe there is a great opportunity for firearms owners to learn how to handle a firearm. Regardless of the reason someone wants to own a gun, even an illegal one, they should all have the proper training, and dry firing is available to everyone. My hope is that through this technique and ever-evolving technology, more people will learn how to properly handle firearms and fewer firearm-related accidents will occur.
